Inis Creative wants to spend its time on projects, not infrastructure

Inis Creative in Mariefred, Sweden, builds websites, web apps, mobile apps and other digital solutions, mainly for small and medium-sized businesses.

Behind Inis is José Ortega. He combines technical know-how with web strategy and hands-on delivery, helping businesses become clearer online, get more customer inquiries and work more efficiently.

When Inis takes on a web project, they also try to take responsibility for the whole picture. The client shouldn't have to think much about DNS, deployment or which server does what.

Most clients don't really want to know much about hosting, DNS, servers and deployment. They just want their website to work.

That way of working also puts demands on the tools Inis uses. The less time that goes into the infrastructure around a project, the more time can go into what actually needs to be built.

A natural step from GitHub to live

Inis already works a lot with GitHub and now uses Velumi to host its web projects.

One of them is Kvalitetskompassen, which is built with Next.js and deployed through Velumi.

We already work a lot with GitHub, so the way you connect a project and get it online felt pretty natural.

Above all, Inis appreciates the simple workflow. When a change is ready, they want to ship it quickly, without turning hosting into a separate project.

The less time we have to spend on hosting and server administration, the more time we can spend on the project itself.

A setup that works for smaller client projects

After launch, Inis often keeps helping its clients with support, updates and further development. That makes it practical to handle the technical side themselves over time.

Many of their clients are small businesses, which also makes cost important. Hosting needs to be easy to manage, but also priced at a level that feels reasonable for that kind of project.

For Inis, it's largely about finding tools that work day to day without becoming yet another layer of administration.

We can build with the technology we want to use and still avoid turning hosting into a project of its own.

A European alternative

There's another aspect Inis appreciates, too.

Much of today's modern web infrastructure is dominated by American services. For José and Inis, it feels good that there's a European alternative that fits the way they work.

Personally, I also think it's great that there's a European alternative for this kind of hosting. There are already so many American options, so it feels good to be able to use something closer to home here in Europe.

It also becomes relevant in conversations with Swedish clients, where questions about GDPR and where data is handled sometimes come up.

Something that can grow with Inis

Inis is still a growing company, building up its client business, its consulting side and its own digital products.

That's why they prefer tools that work for the projects they have today but can stay part of the workflow as they take on more clients.

We like solutions that are simple now but that we can keep using as we get more clients.

The plan going forward is to use Velumi for more client projects as the business grows.
